The end of time is approaching, and I'm hungry. Everything is coming to a close, as it should. The threads are all collapsing. I can feel them. I'm not sure how I will continue on without them. I'm not sure IF I will continue on without them. What does it mean, to continue without a thread? Can one exist without a thread, or is a thread a part of one's very nature? We exist here today because our ancestors existed here yesterday. We must exist so our descendents may exist here tomorrow. Yet, one day the universe will end, and there will be no tomorrow. When that day comes, what will it have all been for? Your response likely references the innate beauty of the universe, but then I posit to you why is the timescale of the end of the universe relevant? Why must not the universe end today? Why must not I end today? What difference would it make? To utilise any element of the external world as a counter would neccesarily be moot, as there is no perception beyond the end of all things.
